Alpaca Scarf
In Incan times, Alpaca wool was reserved for kings and nobility—valued for exceptional warmth, softness, and comfort against the skin. This scarf carries that lineage forward in a modern, understated way: natural alpaca wool, woven in the UK as a refined worsted cloth, with subtle silk accents set into a classic british windowpane pattern. The substantial weave is protective in winter, comfortable through cold autumn and early spring, and exceptionally smooth in the hand.

That’s what led us to alpaca and silk, and to breaking convention almost invisibly. We paired two weave patterns, chose a rare 3×3 structure instead of the easier, standard 4×4, and avoided the shortcut of fully blended yarns—letting the materials keep their character. We didn’t dye the yarns; instead we built color through pre-dyed silk, so the depth is inherent rather than applied. There’s no logo, no name, no badge to lean on—the luxury is in the touch and in recognizing the craft behind it. Internally, we call it “Pope fabric,” a nod to the maker’s last name, but the real signature is the feeling: unmistakable, even if you can’t immediately explain why.

We live in a time of abundance—where what once belonged to gods and kings can be ordered, shipped, and owned by almost anyone. That access is incredible, but it also makes the loud signals of “luxury” feel increasingly hollow. We wanted to make something quieter: a familiar scarf silhouette that doesn’t chase attention, yet rewards it. A piece where the design is not a statement but a composition—subtle choices, precise proportions, and a hand-feel that becomes more obvious the longer you live with it. Outwardly calm, inwardly loaded with intent.

Our Materials
Natural British Alpaca
We start with nothing but natural white and black wool from British alpacas, stopping the blend early so individual hairs remain visible. Combined with natural white in a herringbone-and-chevron pattern, it reads as a soft, even light grey from a distance and unfolds into detail up close.
Dyed Silk
For a dash of colour, blue and pink silk are mixed into white alpaca wool, again stopping the blend early so the making stays visible. The yarns are woven into a large window check that grows lighter toward the center of each stripe, while the silk adds a light sheen and subtle character.
